Oh honey, let me tell ya about this place, DeForest. Yeah, DeForest, in Wisconsin. They got food there, you know? Like, stuff you eat. Places you can go and they’ll give ya food. I ain’t talkin’ about cookin’ at home, nah. I’m talkin’ about go out, sit down, someone brings you food. Easy peasy.

So, there’s this Arandas place. Mexican food, they say. I dunno what that means exactly, but they got food. People go there and eat. They say it’s good. Must be, if folks keep goin’. On Market Street, they say. You know Market Street? Yeah, that one. Arandas. Remember that.

And there’s others too, you know. Lots of places. Food, food, food. You can pick what you want. Fancy stuff, plain stuff. They got it all. Just go and look. Or ask someone. They’ll tell ya. People talk, you know. “Oh, this place is good,” they say. Or, “Don’t go there, the food ain’t good.” Listen to ’em.

  • They got meat. Chicken, beef, pork. Whatever you like.
  • They got vegetables. Potatoes, corn, beans. Good for ya.
  • They got sweets. Cakes, pies, cookies. For after dinner.

Now, sometimes, folks need help, you know? Can’t afford food. Happens to everyone. So there’s this food pantry. They give away food. Good food. Cans, boxes, fresh stuff too. Helps people out. You need help, you go there. Don’t be ashamed. Everyone needs help sometimes.

And listen to this, honey, they invented somethin’ called a “morning bun” in Wisconsin. I dunno what that is, but sounds sweet. Like a roll, I guess. And they got other things too. Beer brats, whatever those are. Fish fries. Pancakes. Ice cream. All sorts of food. You won’t go hungry, that’s for sure.

DeForest, it’s a good place. Safe, they say. Not much crime. People are nice. And the food, well, like I said, they got plenty of it. You just gotta find it. Go out, look around. Ask folks. You’ll find somethin’ you like. Food for everyone, that’s what I say.
