Well, let me tell ya ’bout this place, Angie’s Latin Food. Heard ’bout it from my neighbor, Martha, she said it’s somethin’ special. So, I figured, why not give it a try? My old bones were achin’ for some good eatin’, somethin’ different from the usual mashed potatoes and gravy.
First off, findin’ the place was a bit of a chore. It’s on somethin’ called Airport Road, number 2593. Had to ask that young whippersnapper at the gas station for directions, these city streets, they all look the same to me. But I got there, eventually. Parked my old clunker right out front, it wasn’t hard to find a spot, thankfully.
Now, the food, that’s the real story. Martha, she raved about their… whatchamacallits… Latin American food. Said it was spicy, but not too spicy, just right. And she was right! I ordered somethin’ called… I think it was… a “pupusa.” Looked like a thick pancake, stuffed with cheese and some kinda meat. Lord have mercy, it was good! Cheesy, gooey, and that meat, it was seasoned just perfect. Not like that bland stuff they sell at the supermarket.
And the prices, well, they weren’t too bad neither. Didn’t break the bank, that’s for sure. For what you get, it’s a fair deal. These days, everything costs an arm and a leg, so findin’ a good meal that don’t cost a fortune, well, that’s somethin’ to be thankful for.
I saw some folks orderin’ other things too. Tacos, burritos, you name it. Everything looked and smelled delicious. The place was clean, too. Not fancy, mind you, but clean. And the people workin’ there, they were friendly enough. Smiled and said hello, didn’t rush me none, even though I took a while to figure out what I wanted.
They got a phone number too, if you’re into that sort of thing. Martha gave it to me, just in case. Said you can call ’em for… what was it?… prices and directions. It’s somethin’ like… seven-one-nine, three-oh-six, nine-nine-one-five. Don’t quote me on that, though, my memory ain’t what it used to be.
Oh, and they got somethin’ called “Tripadvisor” reviews, whatever that is. Martha, she’s always on that computer thingy, said they got good ratin’s. Five stars, I think she said. Well, I ain’t surprised. That food was mighty fine. Deserved every one of them stars, if you ask me.
I heard some folks talkin’ about other places nearby, fast food joints and such. But why bother with that greasy stuff when you can have somethin’ real, somethin’ made with love? That’s how it felt to me, anyway. Like someone put their heart and soul into makin’ that pupusa. It wasn’t just food, it was an experience, you know?
Angie’s Latin Food, that’s the name. Remember it. If you’re ever in Colorado Springs, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ tasty and different, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Tell ’em Martha sent ya. Or maybe just tell ’em that old lady with the beat-up car sent ya. They’ll know who you mean.

Angie’s Latin Food in Colorado Springs is definitely worth a visit. I don’t usually go out of my way for food, but this place… well, it’s somethin’ special. Good food, good prices, good people. What more could you ask for? So, go on, give it a try. You won’t regret it. And if you do, well, then you just ain’t got good taste, that’s all I gotta say. This food is a blessin’, a real down-home blessin’, even if it ain’t exactly like the food I grew up with.
They open pretty early too, for all the early birds like me, and stay open late for the youngsters. So no matter what time you get hungry, you can always pop in for a bite to eat. And they got somethin’ for everyone. Even picky eaters like my grandson, little Timmy, would find somethin’ to enjoy there. I’ll have to bring him along next time, get him away from all those sugary snacks and have him eat some real food.
