Alright, so you’re lookin’ for some Chinese food in North Mankato, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, there’s a few places ’round here folks seem to like. I ain’t no fancy food critic or nothin’, but I know what tastes good, and I know what fills ya up.

First off, they got this place called New Great Wall. Sounds grand, don’t it? Folks say it’s pretty good. Then there’s Hunan Garden. Now that sounds like a place with some greens, don’t ya think? I like me some veggies with my meat, gotta keep things balanced, you know. My grandson, he took his girl there once. Said it was “romantic.” Hmph, kids these days. But he also said the food was good, so that’s somethin’. They got a big menu, lots of choices. Too many if you ask me. Makes my head spin just lookin’ at it.

• But they got all sorts of stuff, like noodles and rice and chicken and beef. You name it, they probably got it.
• I heard they got somethin’ called “Peking Duck.” Sounds fancy, huh? Probably costs a pretty penny, too. I’ll stick to my chicken, thank you very much.

And don’t forget about China Star. That name’s easy enough to remember, ain’t it? Now, I hear they’re real quick over there. Good for when you’re hungry and don’t wanna wait around. Fifteen minutes, they say. That’s faster than I can make a pot of coffee! They got that spicy chicken stuff, too. My son-in-law, he likes things hot. Me? I prefer things a little milder. There’s a few other places, too. Yu’s Chinese Cuisine, that’s one. And Mongolian Grill. Sounds like they cook things on a big ol’ grill, huh? My husband, bless his soul, he loved grills. Always said food tastes better cooked over fire. And then there’s Wakai’s Asian Fusion. Now, “fusion” that sounds like a whole bunch of different things mixed together. I don’t know about all that fancy mixin’ stuff, I like things simple and straightforward. But folks seem to like it, so it must be alright.
