Real Customer Reviews: Deckhand Daves Fish Tacos Are Awesome
Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this place, Deckhand Dave’s Fish Tacos. I ain’t no fancy food critic or nothin’, just a regular person who likes to eat good food. And let me tell you, these tacos, they’re somethin’ else.
First off, the fish. They say it’s wild Alaskan, whatever that means. All I know is, it tastes fresh, not like that fishy stuff you get sometimes. They got halibut, rockfish, and salmon. I tried the halibut, it was flaky and juicy, real good. My friend, she had the salmon, said it was tasty too. So, the fish, it’s a winner, you know?
Now, about them tacos themselves. They ain’t stingy, that’s for sure. Plenty of fish in each taco, not like some places where you gotta go huntin’ for the meat. They put some kind of sauce on it, tartar sauce they call it. Tangy, creamy, goes perfect with the fish. Then there’s the other stuff, you know, the cabbage and whatnot. Adds a little crunch, makes it all come together nice.
I heard tell this Dave guy, he used to be a fisherman. Guess he knows his fish, huh? He started this place in 2016, they say. Seems like he’s doin’ alright for himself. The place is right on the water, got a nice view. You can sit there and watch the boats go by while you’re eatin’. Makes it more enjoyable, you know, eatin’ good food with a pretty sight.
The prices? Well, they ain’t cheap, but they ain’t outrageous either. You get what you pay for, I always say. And these tacos, they’re worth a few extra dollars. You feel full and satisfied after eatin’ ’em, not like you just ate a bunch of air.
- Fish Quality: The fish is fresh, not fishy, and they give you a good amount in each taco.
- Taste: The tacos are delicious, the tartar sauce is tangy and creamy, and the cabbage adds a nice crunch.
- Atmosphere: The place is located on the water with a nice view, making for a pleasant dining experience.
- Price: It’s a bit pricey, but the quality and portion sizes make it worth it.
I saw some folks sayin’ these are the best fish tacos they ever had. Well, I ain’t eaten enough fish tacos in my life to say that, but I can tell you they are darn good. I’d go back again, that’s for sure. And that’s sayin’ somethin’ comin’ from me, ’cause I don’t usually like to spend my money on eatin’ out. I can make a pretty good meal at home, but these tacos, they’re special.
Are these fish tacos healthy? Well, I ain’t no doctor, but I reckon they ain’t too bad for ya. Fish is supposed to be good for you, right? And they ain’t fryin’ the fish, they grillin’ it, so that’s gotta be better. Course, if you go and load it up with cheese and sour cream, then that’s a different story. But if you eat it like they give it to ya, I think it’s a pretty decent meal. They say cod is good for tacos too, but Dave, he uses them other fishes, and they are just fine.
So, if you find yourself in Juneau, Alaska, and you’re lookin’ for somethin’ good to eat, go on down to Deckhand Dave’s. You won’t be disappointed. Just tell ’em that old lady sent ya. They won’t know who you’re talkin’ about, but that’s alright. You just enjoy them tacos. They’re really somethin’ special, trust me on that.
Last thing, they got fish and chips too. Didn’t try ‘em myself, but if the fish tacos are any indication, I bet they’re pretty darn good too. Maybe next time I’ll give them a whirl.
